Après la revue de son programme… Le FMI note des avancées pour l’économie béninoise Durant deux semaines, une mission du Fonds Monétaire International (FMI) conduite par Monsieur Luc Eyraud a séjourné à Cotonou pour la cinquième revue du programme économique et financier conclu en avril 2017 avec le Bénin dans le cadre des accords au titre de la Facilité Élargie de Crédit (FEC). Ce mardi 05 novembre 2019 à la Présidence de la République, un point de presse conjoint a été tenu par le Chef de mission et le Ministre de l’Economie et des Finances Romuald Wadagni. Luc Eyraud, Chef de la Mission du FMI pour le Bénin : «Le programme du FMI au Bénin est globalement un succès » « Nous venons de terminer la cinquième revue du programme triennal entre le Bénin et le FMI. Nous sommes parvenus à un accord sur les grands axes de la politique économique. Les résultats du Programme sont et continuent d’être très satisfaisants. Tous les indicateurs de performance sur la première moitié de 2019 ont été atteints. Le déficit au premier semestre a été plus bas que prévu. La mobilisation des recettes fiscales a été excellente. Pour ce qui est de l’économie, on note une croissance en 2019 qui est de 6,4%. C’est une croissance forte tirée notamment par l’agriculture et les services. Une partie de nos discussions a été sur le projet de budget 2020 et sur les mesures de politique sous-jacentes à ce projet de budget. Nous félicitons les autorités béninoises qui ont décidé de cibler un déficit de 1,8% en 2020. Un déficit bas qui est nettement en dessous du plafond régional de 3%. Nous félicitons également les réformes de mobilisation des recettes qui sont faits pour l’an prochain. Les efforts de mobilisation de revenus permettront de financer des projets de développement et aussi d’améliorer la capacité à rembourser la dette. On a aussi noté que le ratio de la dette sur le PIB sera constant l’an prochain. C’est une très bonne nouvelle. C’est une très bonne mesure de prudence budgétaire et une bonne condition macroéconomique.
