Invited by his French counterpart, Bruno Lemaire, the Beninese Minister of Economy and Finance Mr. Romuald Wadagni will participate this Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in Paris, in a high-level conference on financing for development. “Sustainable debt for sustainable growth.” It is around this theme that the reflections of the sixty or so finance ministers, central bank governors, heads of international financial institutions, academics and representatives of private financial institutions invited to this conference will revolve. The final objective is to help States find the right balance in order to finance their development, while avoiding excessive indebtedness. Minister Wadagni is scheduled to speak in a panel entitled “For a virtuous financing of development”, in front of an impressive audience of guests including, among others, Madame Christine Lagarde Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Mr. David Malpass, President of the World Bank . At this conference, Benin will undoubtedly gain even more credibility before technical and financial partners in order to ensure the good health of its economy. It should be noted that this conference is organized by the French government, in its capacity as president of the Paris forum, with the support of the Japanese Presidency of the G20.
