To facilitate the declaration and payment of taxes by taxpayers, the Directorate General of Taxes sets up the Integrated Tax and Similar Management System (Sigtas). This new information system, funded by the Canadian government through the Support Project for the Acceleration of Domestic Revenue in Benin (Paarib), was launched this Thursday, March 15 in Cotonou, by the Minister of the Economy and Finance, Romuald Wadagni. Tele-procedures or e-services are now a reality in Benin. After the website where it is possible to obtain vital information, both on the obligations and on the rights of the taxpayer, the tax administration has just launched a new information system called the Integrated Tax Management System (Sigtas ). With this new system, all it takes is one click to register your declarations and pay your taxes without having to travel. At the launching ceremony of the new information system, the director of the Project to support the acceleration of domestic revenue in Benin (Paarib), Hervé François, underlined that the work of Sigtas focused on the analysis and configuration of all types of taxes administered by the Directorate General of Taxes (Dgi). He is delighted that the challenge launched at the start of the works has been taken up, in view of the results obtained which give reason to believe in the project. For Hervé François, the investments made within the framework of this project are important. IT infrastructure and equipment must now be rigorously managed. It is up to the government, he advises, to take the necessary steps to secure this equipment. After expressing his gratitude to the Canadian authorities who agreed to finance this initiative through Paarib, the Director General of Taxes, Nicolas Yènoussi will say that Sigtas will manage more than 90% of taxpayers. According to him, through the interconnection with the other partner services, the Sigtas will make it possible to fight against tax fraud.
