The West African Health Organization (WAHO) is the institution in charge of health issues of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), with a mandate to offer the highest level in in the provision of health care to the populations of the sub-region. Communicable and non-communicable diseases are the main causes of morbidity and mortality in the region. Consequently, the fight against diseases and the prevention of epidemics are among the priorities of the 15 countries of the ECOWAS region and are at the heart of WAHO’s activities. The World Bank has provided grants to ECOWAS for the implementation by WAHO of three (3) projects: Regional Project for the Strengthening of Disease Surveillance Systems in West Africa (REDISSE)Project for the Empowerment of Women and Demographic Dividend in the Sahel (SWEDD)Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases Project in the Sahel (P-MTN) WAHO wishes to recruit a dynamic person, with the required qualifications and experience, specialized in Communication and Advocacy who will promote the results of the projects and help improve the visibility of the institution.
