As part of his activities at the head of the Statutory Council of Ministers of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), Mr. Romuald WADAGNI, was received in audience by President Alassane OUATTARA, Tuesday July 23, 2019, in Abidjan in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. The meeting follows the Conference of Heads of State and Government of UEMOA on July 12, 2019. It enabled the MEF to take stock of its activities at the head of the Council since June 2018.President OUATTARA noted with satisfaction the important projects carried out by the Council under the leadership of Minister WADAGNI, among which we can quote: rationalization of WAEMU organs; the access of small and medium-sized enterprises to the regional financial market the economic policy guidelines for compliance with the convergence criteria from 2019; rebasing of national accounts, etc. In addition, the meeting was an opportunity to address the issue of the single currency. President OUATTARA reiterated on behalf of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of UEMOA, his congratulations to Minister WADAGNI and to all members of the Council.
