The aim of this tournament was in particular to “break down barriers” and to strengthen the friendship between these two ministries and beyond, to promote sub-regional cooperation. “For us, it was about breaking down the barriers between the two departments. Continuing Mr. Douaix who was accompanied by the Deputy Director General of the Treasury and Public Accountancy of Côte d’Ivoire, Arthur Ahoussi, explained that this initiative had a double stake. In particular, “to allow our employees to leave the offices and express themselves in the field, but also to break down the barriers between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Côte d’Ivoire and that of Benin”. He also announced that his ministry has plans to organize a football competition in which all the ministries of economy and finance in the sub-region will take part to strengthen their cooperation. In the same vein, Anatole Debbi, the president of the team of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Benin, estimated “that we have not had a winner or a loser, it’s friendship who reigned ”. Before the grand final of this competition won (3-2) by the Beninese, Côte d’Ivoire won against Benin in all the other four confrontations that have furnished this tournament.
